In order to create a healthy transaction environment, OKX continuously upgrades its risk control strategies and strengthens risk management. Since the establishment of the risk control system, multiple high-risk accounts have been intercepted. Through review and analysis of these high-risk accounts, two main high-risk types have been identified to help users avoid becoming "tools" for criminals.

With the rapid development of blockchain, digital asset transaction has gradually come into the public, and at the same time, it has attracted some high-risk groups. They use methods such as 'buying crypto on behalf of others, gambling, Ponzi schemes, and money laundering' to exploit users who are unfamiliar with the crypto space to assist them in conducting high-risk transactions.

For information on how to prevent proxy coin purchases and illegal fund transfers, please refer to the security notice: How to Prevent Illegal Activities Such as Ponzi Schemes, Proxy Coin Purchases, and Fund Transfers.

Type 1: Withdraw to high-risk Exchange for transaction

Common characteristics of high-risk Exchange: sign up is not public, a fixed referral code is required to sign up an account, deposit addresses are frequently changed, and my trades are deleted, etc.

Type 2: withdrawing funds to a scam platform

This type of trade behavior: Step one is to induce users to sign up an account, step two is to provide a designated withdrawal address, step three is to lead trade and display high return, but in the end, to withdraw the return, a fixed withdrawal fee must be paid (this fee is not a network miner fee);

Based on the above two situations, OKX has conducted multiple in-depth verifications with the police and has now identified several high-risk platforms. We urge every customer to exercise caution when transacting.

Precautionary measures in case of unexpected situations

  • Be cautious of all kinds of investment scam involving 'lead trade' or 'network friendships' that recommend participating in network gambling. Do not participate or spread such activities;

  • Do not provide or rent out your account to others, especially strangers, to prevent your account from being frozen or becoming involved in legal liabilities;

  • Do not trust any form of high-profit rebate or proxy coin-buying activities. Do not participate or spread them;

  • Avoid trading platforms that are 'not publicly registered, lack risk control, have no customer service, and have no market depth' to prevent asset losses;

  • If you discover any online scams related to digital assets, please report them to the platform or contact the police promptly;

  • If you withdraw funds to a scam platform, please properly keep your chat records and promptly report to the platform or contact the police.
