$NEAR is a decent short-term trade, but let's be real here. It's ultimately a hyper-liquidity evasion game. The chain's lifetime revenue is just 17 million dollars, compared to a market cap of 3.6 billion. That's a brutal ratio.
They slashed issuance by half down to 2.5% to try and stretch the capital retention momentum on chain. But 600ms finality? That's slow. And we're supposed to believe this will become the go-to chain for AI agents?
Even if it does, the revenue is a drop in the ocean. Issuance will dry up, capital will rotate out. There's no real reason to build or allocate capital there, and that's exactly why nobody is doing it.
As I said, it's a decent short-term play, but clearly a hyper-liquidity evasion game. I had to call it out. Just allocate to $HYPE instead. Skip the dinosaur coins.
If a chain ever emerges as the real economic layer for autonomous agents, it won't be an 8-year-old dinosaur. Make the trade, take the exit. There's clearly a serious marketing campaign behind this one. And in crypto, when there's a serious marketing campaign, someone is always waiting to pull the plug. Hyperliquid. 🦖
